TAXIDERMY FAQ
Potential questions answered! If you're still unsure feel free to email me thornandfeatherco@outlook.com

Are you accepting commissions?
I am currently accepting a limited number of commissions. If you have piece you would like to have come to life, please reach out to me through the contact tab and I can let you know my availability.
Do you offer international shipping?
I only ship within the UK due to complicated import and export regulations.
How do you source your specimens?
All the specimens I handle pass from natural causes, such as road traffic accidents, old age, illness, and window collisions. Corvids are typically a result from the pest control industry and are dispatched by licensed controllers.
Can I donate you a deceased bird I've found?

I'm always eager to work with birds of all species. If you come across a bird and would like to donate it, I would greatly appreciate it! Please ensure it is frozen promptly in an airtight resealable bag and contact me via the contact tab.
Please note: I only accept specimens that have died from natural causes. If you find a bird of prey, I will need specific information about the location and time of your find to apply for an A10.
How do I care for my taxidermy?
All items are preserved to the appropriate standard, but it is important for you to provide proper maintenance. Insects, such as moths, can still be drawn to taxidermy, regardless of preservation quality.
To reduce potential damage, dust your taxidermy every week/fortnight, and consider using a taxidermy protector spray for extra safeguarding.
If you discover that your piece has been damaged by insects, promptly place it in the freezer to eradicate them and address any affected areas in your home.
I'm interested in a piece I found in your gallery; can I purchase it?

Most of the artwork in my gallery has already been sold or is not for sale and serves as an example of my work. Any pieces still available for purchase can be found via the shop tab.
How will my item be shipped?
Every piece is securely packaged prior to shipping to reduce the risk of damage. Most items are sent via Royal Guaranteed by 1 pm, but if you want to ensure the safest possible journey for your piece, I can provide a quote from a private art courier.
